Does the structure change?

Regarding every structure of the test, it does not change. The test remains the same and based on the same logic. The test remains online. The modules are the same as the BULATS: written and oral comprehension, written expression and oral expression. It is possible to pass one, two or three modules at a time. The 3 modules of Linguaskill

The Linguaskill lasts from 1h to 2h20 if you pass the three modules. BULATS linguaskill

Listening and reading: it is the longest part of the test, it lasts from 1h to 1h25. You will follow questions of oral and written comprehension, on different supports and different forms. Writing: The written expression test lasts 45 minutes. You must write two different texts. The first one is shorter and must be at least 50 words long. This is most often an email, and you must answer a question posed as a deposit. The second text you need to produce is longer, at least 180 words long. It can be in the form of essay or report, on a given theme in the statement. You have the results within 12 hours of passing the test.

Speaking: this very short test (15 minutes), also happens with an examiner. You must speak in a microphone. For this event, you must answer 5 exercises, all of which is worth 20% of the vote. You must first answer 8 personal questions and then read 8 proposals. Then, you must successively speak 1 minute on a subject, comment on a graph presented infront of you and give your opinion on a question. For each module, you will get a result ranging from A1 (beginner) to C1 (experienced). Your Linguaskill results are valid for 2 years.

What is the price of Linguaskill?

The Linguaskill will be sold a bit more expensive than the BULATS by Cambridge, between 70 € and 90 € (depending on the city) for the version “2 skills”, about half the price of the TOEIC. The Linguaskill offers a version “4 skills” at the same price as the TOEIC, or about 120 €.

Linguaskill can be administered on Chrome or Firefox. It is therefore much easier for companies or organizations to pass it, which considerably reduces the examination fees. The big change, then, is the possibility to choose the type of test that you want to pass: general or business.
